About this product
First struck in 1967, the Krugerrand was the coin that popularised gold bullion investing worldwide. It contains exactly one troy ounce of pure gold alloyed with copper for durability, and is one of the most widely traded bullion coins globally. As it is not UK legal tender, it is not exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
Reverse design
A springbok antelope, one of South Africa's national symbols, designed by Coert Steynberg.
Obverse design
A portrait of Paul Kruger, former President of the South African Republic, by Otto Schultz.
